Shutford Summer Festival 2018

Wow, what a great little festival! Small but perfectly formed, with loads of interesting stalls & demonstrations – including Fired Up Studios, lovely people, fab weather, great bar & Bands!

Lovely to meet so many first time throwers – only just managed to fit all the pots in the car for the journey back to the studio, keep your eyes peeled for pot firing updates, they should be due for collection from Shutford Village Hall shortly…

Another great part of the Shutford experience was making this platter to mark the occasion…

Banbury ArtsFest – 10th June 2018

Had a great day taking our portable wheel on its first road trip offsite to the 2nd Annual Banbury ArtsFest, part of the Banbury District Show…

Our next road trip will be to Shutford Summer Festival on 23rd June, so if you missed us in Banbury head over to Shutford – we’ll have both wheels there for a proper Throwdown!

Highlights from the Banbury show…

Oxfordshire Art Weeks: 5th – 13th May 2018

Art Weeks is upon us once again – this time last year Fired Up Studios was a pipe dream, I was selling pots from my stall in the large group exhibition at the church (a fabulous show – even bigger this year!) and got talking to a visitor about my work and how I’d love to have a studio where people could come and make ceramics, he turned out to be a business advisor at Northamptonshire Growth Hub and here we are today!

If you’d like to come make some ceramics at Fired Up Studios there’ll be Introduction to Throwing on the Wheel workshops throughout Art Weeks. Full details & sign up here

It’s been a long time coming…

Ahhh, the hazy days of summer, back when we didn’t even have a roof over our heads….

But look at us now!

It’s taken slightly longer than expected but we are now on the final straight… and the skylights are amazing, just need to learn to throw whilst gazing upwards!

Fingers crossed we’ll be ready for our opening event – Hey Clay! from 23-25 March!
